Executive Council Confirms Mark B. Hall as Director of the Division of State Police
CONCORD, New Hampshire – This morning, members of the Executive Council unanimously confirmed Mark B. Hall as the next Director of the Division of State Police. Per state statute, the Director holds the rank of Colonel.
Hall, who was nominated to lead the New Hampshire State Police by Governor Sununu on August 23, has been with the Department since October 1999. Previously, he has held the ranks of Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Trooper.
“With over two decades of service to New Hampshire under his belt, as Colonel of the New Hampshire State Police Mark Hall will continue to uphold the Granite State’s exemplary record of public service and safety,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “I thank Mark for his service to the State of New Hampshire.”
“My sincerest congratulations to Mark Hall and his family,” said New Hampshire Department of Safety Commissioner Robert L. Quinn. “He has dedicated much of his life to serving the State of New Hampshire. His experience, along with his commitment to those he will lead and his vision to build upon the longstanding traditions of the State Police, will help keep the Granite State a safe place to live and visit.”
The Director (Colonel) of the New Hampshire State Police is responsible for overseeing the overall operations and performance of the Division by leading its employees in its mission to make New Hampshire the safest state in the country.
Prior to his employment with the State of New Hampshire, Hall worked as a Vermont State Police Trooper and as a patrol officer with the Milton, Vt. Police Department. He is a graduate of Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.
