Marasco Confirmed Director of Division of Motor Vehicles

Concord, NH – Yesterday, the New Hampshire Executive Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of John C. Marasco as Director of the New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Motor Vehicles. Governor Chris Sununu nominated Marasco on January 26, 2022.

His experience and wide depth of knowledge received throughout his career will further the Department's mission to enhance the safety, security and quality of life in New Hampshire," said Robert L. Quinn, Commissioner of the Department of Safety.

"Thank you to Governor Sununu, members of the Executive Council and Department of Safety Commissioner Quinn for affording me this opportunity to support the efforts of the hard working employees of the Division of Motor Vehicles, as we work together each day to fulfill the division's goals of providing for safe drivers, safe vehicles and safe roadways throughout New Hampshire," said John C. Marasco, newly confirmed Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Marasco has been a member of the New Hampshire State Police for more than two decades and was most recently assigned as the Major of Investigations and Information Security, where he was responsible for overseeing the agency's Justice Information Bureau and the Investigative Services Bureau. In previous roles, Marasco oversaw the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety and served in the agency's Recruitment and Training Unit for New Hampshire State Police. In 2017, Marasco was also recognized with an MLK "Keeping the Dream Alive" award by the National Cultural Diversity Awareness Council for his efforts to strengthen police-community relations.

Marasco will be sworn in Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
